Which WalkOVR Would You Prefer?

Virtual reality is a computer-generated simulation of a 3D environment, created using interactive software and hardware, and experience through the senses of sight and hearing. Virtual reality differs from the more traditional definition of “video games” in that there isn't a set of rules that govern how you interact with the program but rather it is designed to provide its users with an immersive experience. When it comes to VR, users expect a nearly flawless experience. Even subtle stuttering or glitches can be enough to make users sick. A smooth, immersive experience is critical in today's fast-paced world of high-tech games, virtual reality, and online videos.

With the rise of Virtual Reality, peripherals have been introduced to developers in order to move around in a virtual space. Using motion trackers and VR locomotion devices, players can interact with their game by moving their hands or body. These motion devices are designed to bring the player into the game as if they were actually there. As WalkOVR, we are trying to provide VR players with the best VR experience with our VR motion device.

What Is WalkOVR?

As a company, we can state that WalkOVR is an alternative motion solution for virtual reality. It is a system of devices that tracks your movements and transfers them to the virtual reality environments for you to enjoy the VR atmosphere the best way possible. In brief, WalkOVR offers its users a way to experience virtual reality with a high immersion rate and aims the provide the most natural way of moving in virtual reality.

With this aim, we have 4 products that are specifically designed for the different needs of the different kinds of VR players, since everyone wants to focus on different features in a system. In this article, we want to give some detailed information about our products and features for you to see the differences among them and choose the best WalkOVR for your preference.

WalkOVR One

WalkOVR One is the simplest solution that is developed for the VR locomotion problem. It consists of one OVR node that is worn on the chest. The most significant feature of WalkOVR One is "decoupling", which is a special term that we call separating the body direction from the direction of the headset. For VR locomotion, it definitely creates a basis and it is the most crucial feature that a VR locomotion device needs to have to make the players experience a natural way of moving in VR. Below, you can check out the video to understand better what decoupling is.
You have seen how decoupling works, but do you know how WalkOVR One lets you move in VR? Since the aim of WalkOVR One is to be the simplest VR locomotion device, you can walk and run in VR by just strafing your body to the sides, front and back. With WalkOVR One, you can easily move in VR with a sliding motion rather than depending on the controllers. By that, you can increase your immersion in the VR environment and even decrease your motion sickness in the easiest way possible! Check out below how to use WalkOVR One in Onward.

WalkOVR Twins

WalkOVR Twins is our second VR locomotion product that transfers your movements into virtual reality; but this time, you can physically walk and run in-place rather than just strafing with your body! It is a solution that is developed for VR gamers who expect a little more from a VR gaming experience and wants to engage in their legs into the gameplay. As we stated before, every one of our products is designed specifically for different needs; WalkOVR Twins essentially aim to make your legs do the work, therefore the system doesn't include the decoupling feature. Even so, it is a great system for users who wants to break a sweat in their favorite VR games by moving in place without needing a huge space in their homes or depending on the controllers. You should try it if you are looking for an on-point VR solution.

WalkOVR Trio

WalkOVR Trio is the most developed version of WalkOVR VR locomotion devices. It consists of three nodes that are worn on the chest and the knees. The system can be considered as the merge of the WalkOVR One and WalkOVR Twins, therefore it includes the features of both of the systems; decoupling and walking in-place! We can safely say that WalkOVR Trio is the best product for VR locomotion since it includes both of the main features and it increases the quality of your VR gameplay. So, if you are looking for the most sophisticated solution for VR locomotion, WalkOVR Trio may be your option to try. Check out the video below to see how WalkOVR Trio works in Arizona Sunshine!

WalkOVR MOCAP

WalkOVR MOCAP is the latest product we have released, and we can say for sure that this product is one of its kind; it is the only device in the market that works both as a full-body motion tracker and a VR locomotion device!

WalkOVR MOCAP includes all the features of all of the other WalkOVR systems and after setting it up, it can work as both a VR locomotion and a mocap device. While the VR locomotion feature lets you walk and run in place physically in the VR games such as Arizona Sunshine, Skyrim VR, or Onward, the mocap feature lets you track and show your movements in VR games that enable the use of motion capture devices, such as VRChat and Blade & Sorcery. Even though the two features look very similar, these two features aim to help people to improve their VR gameplay with different aspects, but with just one device. According to us, it is safe to state that it is the best product in the market when you consider the two big features in return for the price. Below, you can check out the motion capture feature of WalkOVR MOCAP.
